How do I create DEBUG logs for the Agent?

During normal operation of the SSL-Explorer Agent no log files are created. When submitting support issues to SSHTools you may be asked to produce a debug log for the Agent, this article explains how to configure SSL-Explorer to produce an Agent log file.

1. First login to SSL-Explorer using your account credentials. Once your home page has been displayed navigate to Home->Profiles.
2. You will be presented with the Profiles screen, click the option to Create Profile.
3. Enter a name and description for the profile, for example "Debug" and select which profile you want to base it upon, the default profile will suffice. Once you have entered the information click Next.
4. Select Everyone from available policies and click Add, then Next
5. Click Finish, then Exit Wizard
6. You should now be back at the Profiles screen, click on the more link next to the debug profile, select the magnifying glass (View), then click SSL-Explorer Agent.
7. Tick the Debug option, then click OK, then Done.
8. Now log off and back to SSL-Explorer, you should get prompted for a profile. Choose debug, then press Select.

Now next time the agent runs, it will start logging information useful for SSHTools to debug any errors.

The log is found at $HOME/.sslexplorer/applications/sslexplorer-agent for the file agent.log.

In Windows your home will be the local user profile directory which is typically located under C:/Documents and Settings/USERNAME
In linux your home will typically be /usr/USERNAME/ (note that .sslexplorer is a hidden folder on linux and will only be visible with a ls -al command)
